Pendle Winter Race League 1

Pendle welcomed 119 racers from Carlisle, Sunderland, Kendal, Rossendale, Oval, Runcorn & Stoke to take part in the first event in our Winter Race League series.

The morning started with practice at 8.15, with racing starting at around 9.20. Event 1 saw 115 races including race off’s to decide the medals in some of the age groups.

Medals for the day were presented at 12.45.

Results for the day are on the link below with these carried forward for the series trophies. Don’t forget it’s the best four out of five results that count for the series and medals are awarded to the top three teams in each age group at every event.

Dave Ryding visits Pendle to Inspire Racers

DAVE RYDING AT Pendle

Great to see Dave Ryding take time out of his busy schedule whilst in the UK to call in at Pendle to inspire racers at race training.

Dave was happy to chat to racers and parents whilst watching training and giving some individual feed back to support racing at grass roots level.

We all wish him well for the season

Pendle Winter Race League 2015 – 2016

If you would like an introduction to ski racing dates are now confirmed for the Pendle Winter Race League for the current season.

The Winter Race League Series is a great fun team event and introduction to racing with teams of three or four racing against each other on a relay basis each month.

Teams travel from all over the North West, North East, Cumbria, Cheshire and Stoke for a morning of racing with medals presented in each age group on the day and results carried forward to March (best 4 out of 5) for the series trophies.

Pendle Club House Extension Approved

After lots of hard work by our club house committee, various meetings with the planners and with some amendments planning approval has now been agreed by the local authority under application 3/2015/0507.

Whilst it is fantastic news that our planning application has been approved now the hard work will really start in terms of fund raising and grant applications to help assist with the building costs.

August monthly coaches award

Pendle welcomes back the Alpha Race Camp

The Alpha Race Camp headed up by Benn Hall was welcomed back to Pendle again in August with Benn assisted by former Pendle racers and coaches Jo Ryding (JR Skiracing) and Brad Morgan supported by Ski Racing Supplies and Dynastar & Lange.

The camp waa attended by racers from throughout the North West with skiers from 20 – 30 taking part each day. The coaching team bring a wealth of experience with them to provide a week of skiing, fitnes video feedback and daily competitions.

Friday afternoon sees the end of week race competition with Benn assisted by the normal Pendle team and presented prizes from sponsors Ski Racing suppiles

July monthly coaches award

Although the slope is closed whilst annual works are taking place, summer racing continues at both ‘fun race’ events and ‘seeded national races’ through out the country.

Well done to William Austin who has been presented with the monthly coaches award for July for some great race finishes after all the hard work in training
